Vote Yes on Proposition 2 because:
The Taser causes excruciating pain, which some courts rule violates our constitutional right to be free from cruel and unusual punishment.
The manufacturer itself, www.taser.com, warns Tasers can cause injury to organs, muscles, nerves, bones, joints, fainting, seizure, panic and *may increase susceptibility for a cardiac arrest. Tasers can cause fire/explosion of gasoline and flammable hair gel and can also fire accidentally from static electricity.
Most Taser experiments were funded by the Taser manufacturer: a conflict of interest. No long-term Taser studies exist. It's impossible to tell if a woman is in early pregnancy and the risks of electrifying a fetus are unknown.
There are two Taser lawsuits against named Columbia police officers right now. Ban Taser use to protect our police and city from lawsuits.
Yes for Proposition 2 allows you to own and carry a Taser, but not to threaten or shoot it at someone, though local attorneys say you should not be charged if you use it in demonstrable self-defense.
