PrintCOLUMBIA — The Columbia Police Department is investigating the second homicide of the weekend.
The victim, a 55-year-old man, had bloody injuries on his head and face, according to a news release from the Columbia Police Department.
Officers were dispatched at 8:15 a.m. to a homeless camp northeast of the former Everett's Restaurant, 1601 Range Line St., near the intersection of Range Line Street and Interstate 70. The man was found dead in his camp by an acquaintance who called 911.
The name of the victim was not released as of late Sunday afternoon, as investigators were working to identify and notify family. The weapon had not been determined, but the release said the wounds did not indicate he was shot or that it was caused by an accident.
Police had no suspects and the investigation was ongoing.

Focus on human rights and decent treatment of our own.
More resources are needed to address the inhumanity of forcing homeless people to find their nooks and cranny in Columbia's abundant underutilized parks, boarded up restaurant properties and closed trailer parks.
It's going to be a cold winter for these people.

The next homeless person might be a former kennel operator forced out of business by the likes of H$U$, the spawn of PETA.
