COLUMBIA — The Columbia College volleyball team quickly defeated Stephens College, 25-10, 25-13, 25-14 on Wednesday at Southwell Complex in the first of two matches this year between the Columbia schools.
Columbia College coach Melinda Wrye-Washington said that the Cougars played well for the first two games, but let up in the third.
"I think less intense is a nice way to put it," Wrye-Washington said.
Still, Columbia College cruised to their 18th straight victory, moving to 30-2 overall and 12-0 in American Midwest Conference play. Stephens fell to 19-15 and 3-9.
Columbia College and Stephens will play again Tuesday at Silverthorne Arena. Columbia College will travel to William Woods on Friday, and Stephens will play Park University at 7 p.m. Thursday at Silverthorne Arena.
