COLUMBIA — A 25-year-old Columbia woman was arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Mallory Simpson was arrested at about 6:20 p.m. Thursday in the 6000 block of Wagon Trail Road, according to a Boone County Sheriff's Department news release. Deputies were attempting to locate Simpson because of a warrant for failure to appear.

According to the news release, officers found drug paraphernalia in plain view in Simpson's purse while speaking with her and in a subsequent search found methamphetamine, cocaine and more drug paraphernalia.

Simpson's bonds were set at $4,500 for possession of a controlled substance and $500 for possession of drug paraphernalia, along with a bond of $10,000 for Simpson's warrant for failure to appear.
