COLUMBIA — Columbia Police have arrested 22 suspects in the past month on suspicion of burglary.
According to a Columbia Police news release, 16 adults and six juveniles were arrested in connection with burglaries between Oct. 19 and Nov. 16. Eight of the adult suspects are between the ages of 18 and 20.
Police said they arrested five groups of at least two or more people committing burglaries together across the city. Other burglars worked independently, according to the release.
- On Oct. 19, a 15-year-old male was arrested in connection with a burglary that took place at 706 Ridgeway Ave.
- On Oct. 21, Anthony Webb, 25, was arrested in connection with a burglary that took place at 2109 Doris Drive.
- On Oct. 23, Bryant Holmes, 21, was arrested in connection with a burglary that took place at an apartment at 2401 W. Broadway.
- On Oct. 25, Tre Cooper, 18, and two 16-year-old males were arrested in connection with a burglary that took place at 2101 Whispering Meadows Court. Cooper was also arrested in connection with a separate burglary at 4907 Moniteau Court.
- On Oct. 29, ThyIhonn Riley, 17, and Alexander Wells, 18, were arrested in connection with a burglary at 101 Thurman St.
- On Nov. 3 and 4, a 16-year-old female and 16-year-old male, respectively, were arrested in connection with a Nov. 3 burglary that took place at 1900 Vassar. Michael Maurer, 19, was also arrested in connection with that burglary, along with burglaries at 319 N. West Boulevard on Aug. 10; 2012 W. Ash St. on Oct. 11; 1211 Jean Rae Drive on Oct. 13; and 2301 Lichfield Drive on Oct. 15.
- On Nov. 5, Daniel T. Barnes, 20, was arrested in connection with the burglaries of 415 N. Ninth St. on Oct. 16; 305 N. Ninth St. on Oct. 17; and 401 St. Joseph St. on Oct. 24. Police said an associate of Barnes', 17-year-old David A. Stone, was also arrested Nov. 5 in connection with a burglary at 605 Fay St. on Oct. 16.
- On Nov. 8, Tervon S. Harvey, 21, was arrested in connection with the burglaries at 1900 Vassar and 2012 W. Ash St. On the same day, Daniel R. Spene, 19, was arrested in connection with a burglary at 1505 Affirmed Drive that was reported on Nov. 7, and Wydallas Tobar, 48, was arrested in connection with a burglary at 1002 Madison St. on July 13.
- On Nov. 11, Rashad Bigham, 18, was arrested in connection with a burglary at 2815 N. Willowbrook Court on Oct. 9.
- On Nov. 12, a 15-year-old male was arrested in connection with a burglary at 818 N. Valley View Drive on Nov. 11.
- On Nov. 15, Lemikael M. Herndon, 19, was arrested in connection with the burglaries at 1900 Vassar and 1211 Jean Rae Drive, another burglary at 1102 Jean Rae Court on Oct. 19 and a fourth burglary at 401 Clinkscales Road on Sept. 3.
- On Nov. 16, Jervon L. Lane, 20, was arrested in connection with the burglaries at 319 N. West Blvd., 1211 Jean Rae Drive, 2301 Lichfield Drive and 401 Clinkscales Road.
- On Nov. 16, Vikki Thomas, 45, and William Thomas, 46, were arrested in connection with the burglary of 1513 Smiley Lane on Oct. 14.
The police department posts burglary prevention information on its website and encourages anyone with information regarding recent burglaries to call police at 874-7652 or Crime Stoppers at 875-TIPS.
