COLUMBIA — Traffic, already heavy because of an MU basketball game, was backed up further Thursday evening following a two-car collision at the intersection of Providence Road and Kentucky Boulevard.
A red GMC Yukon was heading south on Providence Road when it collided with a red Honda Accord heading north.
The driver of the Accord, who declined to be identified, said her car started “spinning,” which she attributed to recent car troubles. In addition to the driver, there were three passengers in the Accord.
The driver of the Yukon was identified as Curtis Thompson.
There was damage to both vehicles, which were taken away on tow trucks. There was damage to the front driver's side of the Yukon, and the tire was no longer attached to the vehicle. The Accord’s front passenger side was damaged. No one was injured or taken to the hospital.

Okay, since I am not an automotive expert by any means, could someone please tell me what problems a car has that can make it start spinning? I'm not trying to be glib, I'm simply curious. Glad no one was hurt, by the way.
Not a mechanic, but maybe a stuck brake caliper, wonky steering rack, or something wrong with the front suspension. If the car was known to spin like the driver claims, it seems pretty stupid to be out driving it.
Was there any water left on the road from the rain? She may have just hydroplaned.
