The now college-aged generation grew up on these books and can probably remember the drill the day a new book came out.
First, you would beg your parents to take you to the nearest bookstore, then wait in line for your own copy of the book. Then, immediately upon coming home, you would curl up and devour the latest adventure of Harry, Hermione and Ron, usually within the same day of getting it.
Sound familiar?
As a way to relive the thrill of the books, "Harry Potter" fans are lining up at midnight Friday to see the first showing of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1," the second to last of the movies.
"Harry Potter" premieres are known for being big events, often times with attendees dressing up as their favorite character. In Columbia alone, the Hollywood and Forum 8 movie theaters have sold more than 2,900 tickets to their shows Friday evening.
But what do you think about the movies? Do you think they're all they're cracked up to be, or do you prefer the original books?

I love them both! The books are wonderful, but it is also cool to see how they translate some of the things in the book to the movie. I know they have to leave allot out to get it into the time frame.
