PrintI read with amazement the virulent language hurled at the Transportation Security Administration by the right-wing "freedom" protectors. It is perfectly OK with them for the government to listen to their phone conversations, read their mail, hack into their e-mails, and search their homes and offices without a warrant — all legal under the Patriot Act, and a clear violation of the Fourth Amendment to the Constitution. But an X-ray or a pat-down to find weapons in airports? Gross misappropriation of power!
Is this being amplified to make a case for lucrative privatization, or is it just because it is happening under the Obama administration? Airport security measures are in place to make us feel safer, and I am not sure how effective the measures are, but I do know that demonizing TSA for invasion of privacy is a lame joke after the last 10 years.

I don't know what right-wing types Jane has heard these complaints from. Most Republican types seem to think this just the price of flying today, while most of the people I've heard arguing against the scanners and patdowns are from the left or those from the libertarian/freedom movement.
Sorry, Jane,not "Airport security measures are in place to make us Feel safer,". These measures are in place to make us Be safer, as are all the other measures in the Patriot Act of which you complain.
Airport "Patdowns" are physical assault, and to the extent that they touch your private parts, are also exactly RAPE. I am a staunch conservative, a retired US Marine with Honorable service, and not a Leftist. Further, Patriot Act Secret Searches are Breaking and Entering. Moreover, the US government has ZERO CONTROL of these searches, and like the airport baggage searches, Special Agents entering homes are stealing rare coins, jewelry, and property from their "Suspects". The ACLU just received it's first list of these searches, and the DOJ redacted the documents so completely as to render them almost completely blacked out. We fought the British to keep them from "quartering" themselves in US homes. This was when they simply demanded to be fed and housed, at will all over the Colonies.
When all of you wake up, you are going to find that America is being Punked, just like Kusher punks his victims. And when America finds out about the theft, you will remember this post, and think: We were all told about the thefts in US homes by Special Agents....we just didn't believe it. Now you know, Brothers. Get yourselves some guns, you are gonna need them for Phase Two of the Masonic New World Order's takeover of our constitutional Democracy. Think Subversion, sedition, and conspiracy. Think Fez. Think Obama, in a Lodge, praying to their God, GAOTU. Not our God.
