COLUMBIA — Police Department spokeswoman Jessie Haden has been reassigned to the Patrol Division.
A release from police spokeswoman Jill Wieneke, now the department's primary media contact, announced the "lateral" reassignment Wednesday afternoon.
Wieneke, Haden and Chief Ken Burton could not immediately be reached for comment.
Haden has served as spokeswoman since April 24, 2009, when she was selected* by Burton, who created the public information officer position shortly after his arrival as police chief.
She has been in the department since 1993, according to a previous Missourian report. Before serving as spokeswoman, she previously worked as an advanced crime prevention specialist in the Community Services Unit.

After saying that people concerned by the data stored by the new automated license plate readers were "conspiracy theorists" in an interview on KFRU a couple months ago, this is an excellent move.
I don't understand why someone who is incapable of making an honest statement finds it necessary to work for the police and I don't understand why the police department found it necessary to use such a person as it's mouthpiece. But John, I am sure the reassignment had nothing to do with your crackpot conspiracy theory and everything to do with the resignation of someone who was actually respected by the community. I don't know why I enjoy seeing your comments on here as much as I do John.

Paul, I didn't say nor did I imply I think that Officer Haden's reassignment was due to her previous comments, although I had considered filing a complaint or speaking to Chief Burton at some point in the future to discuss it. I may not agree with the CPD on certain issues, but I don't call their members pigs or jack-booted thugs, so I expect the same courtesy from them.

I "predicted" in a post in the Missourian when this first came out that Jessica Haden was the female subordinate Officer that Mr. Dresner was having the affair with. I never mentioned any names, but I did indicate in a scenario that the female subordinate Officer that Mr. Dresner was having the affair with was married to or at least cohabitating with another Officer that was a Detective with Major Crimes at the CPD.
In the last paragraph of the post that I am referring to in the Missourian, I asked “has anyone noticed that Jessie Haden has not put out any press releases lately”?
MYSTERIOUSLY, that post stayed up for about 2 days, and was then deleted.. I wonder why someone at the Missourian deleted it after it being up for two days? Perhaps they may have thought that I had no “hard proof”? But the fact is, I have known about this little “tryst” and a few others at the CPD, long before it ever became public…. Still; someone should ask Scott Swafford why my post was deleted after it stayed up for two days…? Did someone at the Missourian get a call from someone at the CPD?
