Happy Holidays Everybody!
My Family feels I do way too much public carping for which I do not apologize. They have asked me to be more positive this coming year.
Near impossible with so many schemers about. On a positive note I’d like to state I believe Columbia contains mostly wonderful people. However I like warning these citizens about some of the big stinkers walking around with smiles on their faces and a hidden agenda on their mind, especially some of our politicians and public administrators.
I like complimenting people who like to serve not rule. One of these wonderful people is Third Ward Council person Gary Kespohl. Thank you Third Ward voters. Another council person I spoke with referred to Mr. Kespohl as a “bean counter.” I took that as a wonderful compliment. Mr. Kespohl and our new Mayor want to run Columbia as an efficient business. They want to give the citizens their hard earned tax moneys worth. What a pleasant change.
I challenge the citizens of Ward One and Five to find council candidates of the quality of Mr. Kespohl and elect them. Thanks for allowing me practice being a little positive.
Professor Ines Segert is a great example of MU professionalism and community involvement. Her friends and colleagues should support her run for a second term on the Columbia Public School Board.

Sorry but the above mentioned people do not serve the community. They turned thier backs on the citizens when they annexed in the Richland Rd development. The public didn't want it. If you had attended the East Columbia Area Plan meetings you would know that. Only the developer (who is now broke and selling it), other developers, the city staff and the city council wanted this. These folks serve only those with money or influence, not the public.
When does Kespohl have his office hours. Do I need to meet him at the country club? Seems like his predecessor was a lot more accessible. Too bad for the third ward.
