Woman found unconscious in Lake of the Woods home

COLUMBIA — CrimeStoppers is offering a $1,000 reward for tips leading to the arrest of a person involved in the assault of a 67-year-old woman Monday in her Lake of the Woods home.

Deputies from the Boone County Sheriff's Department and emergency personnel responded to calls around 8:30 a.m. from relatives who found the woman unconscious, according to a news release from the department.

The woman was taken to a hospital and is being treated for injuries, according to the release.

The Mid-Missouri Major Case Squad and law enforcement officers are following up on leads and contacting the woman's relatives, friends and neighbors, according to the release.
