WHEN: 6:30 p.m.
WHERE: Mizzou Arena
RADIO: KTGR/1580 AM, 100.5 FM
TV: KOMU/Channel 8
On Saturday, Colorado makes a return trip to face Missouri in Columbia, and Burks is looking to repeat the performance that he had against Missouri earlier this season.
Q: Since you are from Missouri, did you want to play at Mizzou while you were in high school?
A: No, I didn’t want to be a Tiger at all. I just wanted to go to college to play basketball, wherever that was at.
Q: So there are no hard feelings towards Missouri for not recruiting you then?
A: No, not at all. I did what was best for me, and they did what was best for them.
Q: Even though there are no hard feelings, it still had to be nice to beat your home-state team when Colorado beat Missouri earlier this season.
A: It was a great win because they were No. 8 in the country at the time. That was the best part about it. It didn’t really matter to me that I’m from that state.
Q: In the last game against Missouri, you had a big game, scoring a career high 36 points. What led to that?
A: Shots were falling in for me and my teammates noticed that and kept looking for me. It was just a great game all around for me.
Q: What was Colorado able to do in its last game against Missouri that led to the big win?
A: We broke their trap. They run a lot of presses to try and speed you up, and I felt like we just slowed them down and played to our tempo.
Q: Wins on the road seem to be tough to get by every team in this conference right now. What does Colorado need to do to win Saturday night at Mizzou Arena?
A: Being in the Big 12, every game on the road is a tough game. It’s a lot harder because the crowds are crazy but you got to control the crowd. To come out on top Saturday, we got to slow the tempo like we did in the first game, and we’ll be fine.
