Saturday, days following Columbia's near-blizzard, the city remained overwhelmed with snow in some areas. Many sidewalks in downtown Columbia weren’t adequately cleared, and some weren’t cleared at all. Columbia residents talk about how this changed the way they traveled around downtown.

There are some really nice people in Columbia. One such person called us and asked if we would like to have our driveway cleared, and he was volunteering to do so for free. He brought his snow blower over and went right to work on removing the snow from our driveway. When he was finished, he helped our much younger neighbor across the street from us. I just wanted to say this publicly. Columbia is the greatest place in the world to live, and has some of the nicest people living here.
