Broadway, College Avenue bridges might close this week

COLUMBIA — Two pedestrian bridges over Broadway and College Avenue might be closed if necessary for the rest of the week for repairs starting Thursday.

“The repairs are to the concrete on the bridges. It’s weather dependent and will take approximately two days,” said Jill Stedem, public information specialist at the Public Works Department.

Motorists and pedestrians should expect lane closures in the construction area. Only one lane will be closed at a time during scheduled construction if needed, according to a release from the department.

Grove Construction Co., a private contractor working for Stephens College, will perform the repairs.
