PrintFormer MU tailback Derrick Washington was granted a continuance today in his trial for two misdemeanor charges of third-degree domestic assault.
The trial was rescheduled for 2 p.m. on March 30.

Washington's attorney, Christopher Slusher of Holder, Susan and Slusher, requested the continuance before Boone County Judge Deborah Daniels.
Washington was arrested Sept. 11 after allegedly striking his ex-girlfriend several times in the face and forcibly pressing his fingers down on her eyes, as previously reported by the Missourian.
He was suspended permanently from the MU football team after he was charged with deviant sexual assault on Aug. 30. He has not yet been to trial for the sexual assault charges, for which Slusher also received a continuance, according to a Missourian article.
