COLUMBIA — Columbia Police detained a man outside Britches in downtown Columbia on Wednesday night after reports of a stabbing.
The man, dressed in a green hooded sweatshirt and green-and-yellow camouflage pants, lay on his stomach as two officers handcuffed him before putting him in the back of a police car.
An ambulance was dispatched at 10:36 p.m. to Ninth and Cherry streets.
About 10 police cars lined Ninth Street between Cherry and Locust streets.
The alleyway between The Rome and Tiger Barber Shop was blocked by police cars and yellow police tape.

I hope they detained him for his britches as well.
Why? Is that against the law? I think that's mainly an issue for the fashion police, but I think they already ruled on this case and decided that for casual wear, no one cares about the height of your jeans accept old people.
Glad to see that the cops are using tasers instead of guns.
Will someone please call Mary Hussmann. The police used a Taser to subdue a knife wielding maniac. Everyone knows they should have offered him a lollipop first.
what was the car chase at 2 a.m. then?! right outside my place on 9th and Walnut there were at least 5 cop cars and I could hear them yelling, "get out of the vehicle with your hands up!" then out of nowhere they zoomed off with their sirens after a car. I could barely see it out my window, but this must have been a different case I guess
Half of my furniture used to come from that alley behind The Rome. Good times.
