COLUMBIA — The annual state tornado drill will take place at 1:30 p.m. March 8 as part of Missouri Severe Weather Awareness Week.
The drill will take about 15 minutes. Missourians should practice taking shelter when they hear outdoor sirens or broadcast drill messages.
"The state tornado drill is important because it reminds all of us to plan for weather emergencies that are a common threat across Missouri," State Emergency Management Agency Director Paul Parmenter said in a news release.
The awareness week runs March 7 to March 11.
