Maplewood holds extra performance of 'John Brown's Body,' holds auditions

COLUMBIA — An encore presentation of the reader’s theater version of "John Brown’s Body" will take place at 10:45 a.m. March 11 for the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute.
This presentation will be at the Stephens Lake Activity Center, 2311 E. Walnut St., where the institute holds its courses.It is open to the public. The suggested donation is $15, and the proceeds will go to the Boone County Historical Society and Maplewood Barn Community Theatre.

Auditions will be held for Maplewood Barn's presentation of "Glengarry Glen Ross" on March 12 and 13. They will take place from 1 to 4 p.m in room 110, Lee Hills Hall, 221 S. Eighth St.
After the Maplewood Barn was destroyed in a fire last April, the plans for reconstruction are underway. With funding from the city and community, construction for the new theater is scheduled to be finished by May 2012.
