COLUMBIA — The Missouri Preservation organization plans to honor John and Vicki Ott of Alley A Realty on Wednesday with a Missouri Statewide Preservation Award for their work on the Berry Building renovation.
Lt. Gov. Peter Kinder will present the award that has been given annually for the last 25 years to individuals, organizations or groups that have "contributed to Missouri's rich and diverse collection of historic resources," a news release from Alley A Realty said.
“We’re just happy that they’re recognizing the building," John Ott said. "We’ve had a lot of local people involved that worked hard on it.”
The Berry Building, located in the burgeoning "North Village Art District," now has several businesses including the North Village Lofts, Wilson's Total Fitness, PS Gallery and Pure Exposure Photography.
The award ceremony is scheduled to take place at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the rotunda of the Capitol in Jefferson City.
The Otts have also renovated the Dorsey Building on Broadway, the Paramount Building on Ninth and Cherry streets and the Tiger Hotel.
