MU wine research institute hosts tasting

COLUMBIA— An MU wine institute wants the public's help in selecting new wines that will be featured in the school's 2011 selections.
The university's Institute for Continental Climate Viticulture and Enology is hosting a five-hour tasting event of its latest batch of new grape cultivars.

The University Club event cost $49 and include lunch. The tasting is offered on March 22 and April 5. The registration deadline is March 17.
Missouri was one of the nation's leading wine producers before Prohibition and has seen a resurgence of vineyards in recent years.
