COLUMBIA — The Boone County Sheriff's Department responded to reports of shots fired Thursday night, Sheriff's Department Detective Tom O'Sullivan said.
Witnesses directed the deputies to the home of Colin E. Greeson, 22, at 4361 Santa Barbara Drive, O'Sullivan said.
Greeson was arrested on suspicion of the unlawful use of a weapon and third-degree assault, O'Sullivan said.
It was reported that Greeson and several other people were involved in the outside disturbance, the detective said. Witnesses reported hearing shots fired; however, deputies had not identified who fired the shots as of Friday evening, he said.
A woman who was outside at the time of the disturbance reported that Greeson had pointed a handgun at her and threatened to kill her, O'Sullivan said.
A search warrant was served at Greeson's residence, and deputies found several firearms, a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, he said.
Greeson was released from the Boone County Jail at about 9:30 a.m. Friday on a bond of $5,000, O'Sullivan said.
