COLUMBIA — Missouri men's basketball coach Frank Haith has added former Murray State assistant Isaac Chew to his coaching staff, according to a release from the Missouri athletic department.
Chew will hold the same position at Missouri that he did at Murray State.
"This is just an outstanding fit for our program," Haith said in the release. "He is a tireless worker and his players always come first to him. He is well-respected across the state of Missouri and bottom line, he is a winner."
After playing at Avila University in Kansas City, Chew coached with the Kansas City Pump N' Run, the same program that produced current Tigers Marcus Denmon, Steve Moore and Michael Dixon.
"It's great to be coming back to Missouri and to be at Mizzou, with Coach Haith, is a dream come true," Chew said in the release. "It's important to me that I thank Coach Kennedy, his wife Mary, Athletics Director Allen Ward and everyone at Murray State. I've learned so much these past four seasons and they helped put me in a position to come back to Missouri."
Haith has now filled four of the five available positions on his staff. Chew joins assistant coach Tim Fuller, bench coach Ernie Nestor, and strength and conditioning coach Todor Pandov on Haith's staff. One more position for a director of basketball operations remains open.
