PrintCOLUMBIA – One of the eight defendants charged with the second-degree robbery and second-degree murder of Aaron Hobson pled not guilty on Monday.
Leo Demarcus Roland, 19, is the sixth defendant in the case to plead not guilty.
Hobson, a 22-year-old Kansas man, was robbed and shot Oct. 23 in the parking lot of the Break Time convenience store at 110 E. Nifong Blvd. According to a probable cause statement, Hobson was robbed of an undisclosed amount of money at gunpoint and shot by another defendant, Daron Martez Peal.
Roland was seen by police running from the scene, according to the statement. He went to the Columbia Police Department and implicated himself in the commission of the robbery.
The other defendants in the case are Tony L. Lewis, Lee Wyatt Carter, Patrick Rashad Marshall, Deshon Joseph Alexander Houston, Anthony Jamal Carr and Darris Arlando Peal.
Marshall and Carr have not yet entered pleas.
Hobson was in Columbia to watch his cousin, MU cornerback Trey Hobson, play in the homecoming football game.
