COLUMBIA — The Stephens College Department of Equestrian Studies has announced its 2011 summer riding program, open to children age 8 and above and adults of all riding levels.
The program will teach the basics of riding, horse care and safety. It offers three kinds of riding classes: beginning riding, huntseat and western.
All classes meet Monday to Friday during each session. Summer session dates and fees are:
Session I: June 6 to 17
Beginning riding: 5 to 7 p.m., huntseat: 7:30 to 9:30 p.m., western: 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.
Fee: $400 for 10 lessons
Session II: June 20 to July 1
Beginning riding: 5 to 7 p.m., huntseat: 7:30 to 9:30 p.m., western: 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.
Fee: $400 for 10 lessons
Session III: July 11 to 15
Child morning camp: 8 a.m. to noon, adult evening camp: 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Fee: $300 for children, $275 for adults
Session IV: July 18 to 22
Child morning camp: 8 a.m. to noon, adult evening camp: 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Fee: $300 for children, $275 for adults
