COLUMBIA — Shots were fired in the 4300 block of Santa Barbara Drive on Saturday night during fight in the street that left two women with non-life threatening injuries.
Deputies from the Boone County Sheriff's Department responded at about 10:15 p.m. to 911 calls, according to a news release from the Sheriff's Department, and found that two women had been injured during a fight over a knife. Both women were treated for their injuries, according to the release.
During the fight, one of the people involved fired a handgun into the air, according to the release, but there was no indication that anyone had been injured by gunfire. Deputies were trying to identify the shooter, according to the release.
