TODAY'S QUESTION: How have the recent floods, tornadoes affected you?

The death toll is over 200 after deadly tornadoes and floods swept through Alabama, Virginia, Tennessee, Georgia and Mississippi. Tuscaloosa, Ala., has been hardest hit so far, reporting 125 dead as a result of the severe weather. 

Thursday morning, President Barack Obama approved emergency federal funding for Alabama, and 1,400 National Guard troops are being deployed to the area.

Missouri has not reported fatalities, but flooding has prompted Gov. Jay Nixon to declare a state emergency in the southeastern part of the state. 

A National Guard battalion from Columbia has been deployed to stabilize different areas. The Army Corps of Engineers plans to decide Thursday if a levee at Bird's Point needs to be opened in order to prevent it from breaking. Opening it would flood 130,000 acres of farmland and potentially flood an area of Mississippi County with about 200 residents.
