The process for the Citizens Police Review Board is dramatically flawed because it is rigged to have the police chief be the final arbiter of the review committee’s work instead of theColumbia City Council.
Thecouncil can remedy this flaw easily. Many city commissions (i.e. planning, city development) send recommendations to the council. Why can’t the Citizens Police Review Board do the same?

I urge the council to fix this process.
