COLUMBIA — A day after three Tiger football players were nominated for preseason award watch lists, Missouri received word of three more on Friday.
Linebacker Zaviar Gooden was added to a preseason watch list for the second time this week, this time for the Nagurski Trophy, which goes to the nation's top overall defensive player. The junior from Pflugerville, Texas was named earlier this week to the list for the Bednarik Award, which also goes to the country's best defender. Gooden led Missouri in tackles last season, his first as a starter, with 85.
- Michael Egnew (Senior, TE) — Mackey Award
- Zaviar Gooden (Junior, LB) — Bednarik Award, Nagurski Trophy
- Brad Madison (Junior, DE) — Nagurski Trophy
- T.J. Moe (Junior, WR) — Biletnikoff Award
- Dan Hoch (Senior, OL) — Outland Trophy
- Grant Ressel (Senior, K) — Lou Groza Award
Defensive end Brad Madison was also named to the Nagurski Trophy's list. He was a Second-Team All Big 12 last season and, though he wasn't a starter after Aldon Smith returned from his leg injury, the Bethany native led the team in tackles for loss with 11 and sacks with 7.5.
Madison and Gooden joined seven other Big 12 players on the list. Missouri and Texas were the only schools in the league to have multiple players nominated.
Offensive lineman Dan Hoch was added to the Outland Trophy watch list, which is given to college football's best interior lineman. The senior from Harlan, Iowa, has started 26 games in a row for the Tigers at right tackle.
