COLUMBIA — Wind and heavy rain that hit Boone County on Thursday evening prompted reports of damage to the Office of Emergency Management, according to a news release.
The following damage was reported to Public Safety Joint Communications, according to the release:
- At least one tent was blown over at the Boone County Fairgrounds, and one person was treated at the scene for minor injuries.
- Trees fell over along Route UU south of Midway Exposition Center.
- Trees fell over and power lines were downed between East Morris Drive and Oakland Gravel Road in northeast Columbia. One home was slightly damaged on East Morris Drive.
The Office of Emergency Management asked residents facing power outages to call the Columbia Water and Light at 875-2555 or Boone Electric Cooperative at 449-4181 or 800-225-8143.
