COLUMBIA — Columbia police were looking for a man who robbed the Regions Bank on South Providence Road on Saturday morning, police spokeswoman Latisha Stroer said.
About 9:34 a.m., a man entered the bank at 3111 S. Providence Road, handed the clerk a note that said he had a gun and demanded money, Stroer said.
The clerk gave him a undisclosed amount of money, and the man left on foot out of the north entrance, she said.
Stroer said no one was injured during the incident and a gun was never displayed. Police have not retrieved surveillance photos at this time.
Police were still looking for the man Saturday afternoon, she said.
Stroer said the man is described as being white, 30 to 35 years old with blond hair, about 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighing 160 pounds. He was last seen wearing a tan shirt and jeans.
