JEFFERSON CITY — The murder trial of a Missouri teen accused of killing her 9-year-old neighbor has been delayed until next year.
The Jefferson City News Tribune reported prosecutors said during a court hearing Tuesday that they have evidence that still requires testing. Cole County Prosecutor Mark Richardson said the tests would take six weeks and have not yet begun.

Alyssa Bustamante was 15 years old when she was charged with the October 2009 killing of her neighbor, Elizabeth Olten. They lived in a small town west of Jefferson City. Bustamante has pleaded not guilty to an adult charge of first-degree murder. Her trial had been scheduled for Sept. 13.
Judge Pat Joyce said it now appears jury selection can take place Jan. 10-11, and the trial could start immediately after that.
