COLUMBIA — A former "Biggest Loser" has another chance to win — this time in Columbia.
Rebecca Meyer, who competed in season eight of the TV show "The Biggest Loser," plans to run the 10K race at the Roots 'N' Blues 'N' BBQ Festival on Saturday.
Meyer won $100,000 for losing the greatest percentage of weight among contestants eliminated from the contest.
Meyer's boyfriend, Daniel Wright, who was also a contestant on season eight, will run with her.
Saturday's race will kick off Meyer's fall races in her "50 in 50 by 30" campaign. Meyer's goal is to run in at least one event in all 50 United States by the time she turns 30 on March 15, 2014.
Meyer and Wright thought Columbia would be a wonderful place to race, Leigh McGivern, Meyer's spokeswoman, said.
"They are both country music fans, and they love barbecue," McGivern said.
Meyer and Wright will arrive in Columbia late Friday night. The 10K race starts at 7:30 a.m. Saturday at Flat Branch Park, 101 S. Fourth St.
