PHOTO GALLERY: Adding color to Columbia's traffic boxes

Stephanie Foley is being paid $1,500 to paint the traffic box at Seventh Street and Broadway as part of the Traffic Box Art Program. The program aims to create unique art in downtown Columbia to combat graffiti. Foley's is the fourth to be completed.
The Traffic Box Art Program started in 2007 as a pilot program and has since expanded into an annual program. This traffic box will be the fourth completed in the series.

The program aims to combat graffiti and create unique art in downtown. Foley is a freelance graphic designer and graduated from MU with a bachelor's degree in fine arts.

This is a good idea and I'm glad to see the city paying a reasonable price to have it done. Not only does it keep away graffiti, but it adds a dash of colorful panache downtown.
My God they pay for this?
