PrintCOLUMBIA — The collegiate apparel company, Jock’s Nitch Locker Room will launch its 14th store Friday afternoon in downtown Columbia.
Megan Tilk, the marketing and public relations assistant of Jock’s Nitch, said the goal was to open in time for Homecoming weekend.
“We really want to cater to alumni, current students and parents, so they don’t have to fight the crowds at the bookstore,” she said.
The almost 4,000-square-foot store at 16 S. Ninth St. carries a variety of merchandise, including T-shirts, sweaters, Under Armour, bedding, purses and Oakley eyewear.
Tilk said Jock’s Nitch is not a competitor to other athletics or sports stores but an alternative that provides more options to customers.
“I feel like a lot of the other stores only sell clothes, and we’re not just clothes,” she said.
Besides licensed MU apparel, the store sells other Midwest team gear such as St. Louis Rams, St. Louis Cardinals and Kansas City Chiefs.
The store is currently under opening promotions; any one regular priced item will receive a 25-percent-off discount with a valid coupon.
