Mizzou Gold Team wins Fall World Series

COLUMBIA — The Missouri baseball team's Gold Team won this season's Fall World Series on Tuesday with a 10-3 victory over the Black Team. The victory gave the Gold a 4-1 record in the annual best-of-seven intrasquad series at Taylor Stadium that concludes the program's fall practice schedule.
The Gold Team collected 14 hits, and six players had multi-hit games. First baseman Andreas Plackis went 3-for-4 with three RBIs and a pair of runs scored. Catcher Ben Turner also drove in three runs while going 2-for-4 with two runs scored.

The series opened with a 7-4 extra-inning Gold victory Oct 17 and a 6-3 Gold victory Oct. 19. The Black won 2-1 in the third game of the series last Saturday, however, the Gold prevailed 3-1 on Sunday, setting up Tuesday's deciding victory.
