PrintCOLLEGE STATION, Texas — Missouri held Texas A&M to three second-half points and came alive on offense to win 38-31 in overtime Saturday at Kyle Field.
Missouri (4-4, 2-3 Big 12) gave up three consecutive touchdowns to No. 16 Texas A&M (5-3, 3-2) and trailed 28-17 at halftime, but the Tigers' defense woke up in the second half, forcing two fumbles and an interception.
The Tigers initially failed to take advantage of Texas A&M's mistakes, but they scored two touchdowns within three-and-a-half minutes to take a 31-28 lead with 7:38 remaining. The Aggies tied the game on a Randy Bullock field goal three minutes later.
After Missouri defensive end Jacquies Smith forced a fumble and tackle Dominique Hamilton recovered it, Missouri drove to the 28-yard line with five seconds remaining. Trey Barrow's 45-yard field goal try missed to the right, sending the game to overtime.
On Missouri's first possession in overtime, Franklin hit receiver Marcus Lucas in the left side of the end zone for an 11-yard touchdown. On the ensuing Texas A&M drive, Dominique Hamilton tipped a fourth-down pass to end the game.
Franklin passed for 198 yards and two touchdowns while running for 97 and two more scores. Henry Josey ran for 162 yards and a touchdown.
Earlier in the season, Missouri lost at Arizona State in overtime 37-30. The Tigers had not beaten a ranked opponent in a true road game since 1997.
