The Missouri volleyball team defeated Texas Tech 25-21, 27-25, 25-22 on Saturday night at the United Spirit Arena in Lubbock, Texas.
The victory, which made the Tigers 21-12 overall and 7-9 in Big 12 Conference play, puts the team in a good position to secure an at-large bid in the NCAA Tournament.
Freshman Katie O'Brien led the Tigers offensively with 11 kills, a career best for the native of Dallas, Texas. Sophomore Lisa Henning also chipped in with 11 kills, becoming the third Tiger in program history to post at least 500 kills in a single season.
At No. 32 in the latest RPI rankings released Monday, Missouri will find out its fate on Sunday, when the NCAA Tournament selection show airs at 5 p.m. on ESPNU. The Tigers were an at-large selection in 2010 at No. 45 in the ratings percentage index, which considers a team's win-loss record and emphasizes playing higher-ranked teams.
