COLUMBIA — For the past few weeks, we’ve been running a bracket competition to determine the answer to the question: Who is the best player in Missouri men’s basketball history?

Surprised Sundvold didn't win. Have Tiger fans forgotten an NCAA tournament game in the early 1980s when Missouri played Iowa, which had to play an extra game just to get to Missouri (this was before the 64 team roster)?
Iowa "neutralized" Stipanovich in the first few minutes of the game; he was no factor. Iowa then built up a large lead, and the result could have been the worst shellacking in Missouri sports history if Sundvold hadn't poured on the points in a losing effort.
BTW, wasn't Stipanovich (as a freshman) the guy who literally shot himself in the foot (with a gun, not a basketball)? Cool!
