COLUMBIA — Besides a small chance of showers during the day, participants for several Martin Luther King's Day events can expect to celebrate the day with mild weather.
Jayson Gosselin, National Weather Service meteorologist in St. Louis, said there is a 30 percent chance of rain anytime Monday. However, he said the rain currently looks like it will be fairly light, about one-tenth of an inch.
The temperature is expected to be in the 40s around 7 a.m., when the Poor People’s Breakfast will take place.
The temperature for midday should be mild, with highs in the upper 50s.
In the evening, around 9 p.m., the temperature will be in the mid-40s, and it will continue to drop down to freezing at around 2 to 3 a.m. on Tuesday.
