Missouri Gov. Nixon to deliver State of the State address

COLUMBIA — Jobs and the economy will be the primary themes of Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon's fourth State of the State address Tuesday night.

Nixon's speech is scheduled for 7 p.m. He will deliver it to the Missouri General Assembly from the Missouri House of Representatives' chamber at the state Capitol in Jefferson City.

The speech will be live-streamed through the state government's Web portal at MO.gov.

State Rep. Tim Jones, R-Eureka, and state Sen. Ken Schaefer, R-Columbia, will deliver the Republican response to Nixon's address.

Please allow me to summarize.

1) Everything is broken.
2) It's not my fault.
3) It's going to get better.
4) But I can't explain how.
5) Other than to introduce these new programs.
6) Which are unfunded.
7) And undefined.
8) But poll well.
9) Ends by blaming obstructionists in other party who have only their own interests at heart, implying that only his party can save us all from ourselves.
