COLUMBIA — The temperature reached 66.7 degrees Monday, according to the Sanborne Field Weather Station, falling just short of the record high set in 1890.
The 122-year-old record for the maximum temperature on this day, according to a climate summary from the National Weather Service Office in St. Louis, was set at 68 degrees.
This winter differs in the amount of snowfall, too. Average snowfall values are 9.9 inches since Dec. 1 and 5.1 inches since Jan. 1. This winter's snowfall values are 2.9 inches and 1.6 inches, respectively.
Although Columbia temperatures did not beat the record, the warm weather brought many Columbia residents outside.
