Dorial Green-Beckham signed a letter of intent to play for the Missouri football team Wednesday morning.
Green-Beckham, a 6-foot-6, 220-pound wide receiver from Hillcrest (Springfield) High School, is considered the top recruit in the nation. He was also considering Alabama, Arkansas, Oklahoma and Texas.
Green-Beckham, who took his official visit to Missouri this past weekend, announced his decision at his scheduled signing ceremony from the Hillcrest gymnasium. ESPNU aired it live at 9:15 a.m as part of its National Signing Day coverage.
During his senior season, Green-Beckham caught 119 catches for 2,233 yards and 24 touchdowns. He also set the national record for career receiving yards, 6,356.
By signing Green-Beckham, Missouri's recruiting class ranking improved considerably. After not including Missouri in its Top 25 Tuesday, ESPN.com ranked Missouri No. 21. Rivals.com did not have Missouri in its Top 50; now, the Tigers are ranked No. 32, and their ranking in the 14-team Southeastern Conference improved from No. 13 to No. 10. Scout.com had Missouri tied for No. 34 overall.
