Two Missouri softball players named to preseason watch list

COLUMBIA — Two Missouri softball players were named to the USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year Top-50 Watch List released by the Amateur Softball Association on Wednesday.
Senior outfielder Ashley Fleming and junior pitcher Chelsea Thomas were named to the list.

Fleming was named a second-team All-American last season while leading the Tigers in most major offensive categories.
Thomas, a first team All-American in 2011, posted a 32-8 record last season. She was a finalist for Player of the Year last year.
Missouri was recently ranked No. 5 in the ESPN.com/USA Today preseason poll. The team's season will begin on Feb. 17 at the Quality Inn Classic in Troy, Ala.
