Almost a season of preparation has gone into planning the fans' participation in the Missouri-Kansas game at Mizzou Arena on Saturday.
Sitting right behind the basket closest to the opponent’s bench is the well-known student fan section called Zou Crew. The group gets the first pick at seats closest to the court and coordinates free throw cheers to distract the opposing team as one way to support the Tigers. Although, all of the group's cheers remain positive and aim to solely root for Missouri.
On the other hand, the student section known as The Antlers, who sit together behind members of the Zou Crew, have a different approach to cheering for Missouri. They may be further up in the section, but they are easily heard on the court. They research facts and past statistics on opponents and try to use that to tear down the other team's morale.
Regardless of the different fan group's approaches, the players on Missouri’s basketball team have shown appreciation for the fan’s support.
Here's a look at what some of the fans did a week before the rivalry game Saturday afternoon against Texas Tech at Mizzou Arena.
