COLUMBIA — Fliers with racist language were posted in an MU residence hall, and police are investigating the incident.
Although he didn't have specific details on what the fliers said, Christian Basi of the MU News Bureau said they had "language of a racist nature" and were removed immediately after they were found.
Basi could not confirm which residence hall the fliers were posted in.
MU police were notified immediately and are investigating the incident.
"The university does not tolerate this," Basi said, emphasizing MU's stance against such behavior.
The incident comes at the same time of year as two similar happenings at MU. In February 2011, a racial slur was written in graffiti on a statue outside Hatch Hall. The previous February, cotton balls were scattered outside the Gaines/Oldham Black Culture Center. The One Mizzou diversity initiative was launched in response to these incidents.
