COLUMBIA — MU will be testing its emergency notification system with a text message and email Tuesday afternoon. Message recipients are asked to respond.
Students, faculty and staff who have registered to receive emergency text alerts from the university can expect to receive a text message around 1:50 p.m. Tuesday, according to a news release from the MU News Bureau. The university will also send an email to university email accounts. Both are part of a routine test of the mass notification system.
The message will read as follows: "This is a test of the MU emergency notification system on 2/7/2012. This is only a test. Please reply 'Received.'"
MU students, faculty and staff who don't receive the text message should register at mualert.missouri.edu.
