COLUMBIA — High school seniors looking for help with federal financial aid applications can attend a series of free workshops across Missouri beginning this weekend.
Filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid is a rite of passage for most college-bound students. The free workshops, known as FAFSA Frenzy, begin this week in advance of a Feb. 15 priority application deadline.
Thirty-six workshops are scheduled throughout the state Sunday, a day dubbed College Goal Sunday by sponsors including the Missouri Department of Higher Education. A list of times, dates and locations can be found online.
Participating students will be eligible for a raffle drawing of eight scholarships worth $500 apiece, pending fall enrollment in a Missouri postsecondary school.
