COLUMBIA — The Missouri men's basketball team beat Baylor 72-57 on Saturday at Mizzou Arena.
Neither team led by more than five points until the No. 4 Tigers (23-2, 10-2) went on a 17-3 run during the middle of the second half. They hit five 3-pointers on that run — two by Michael Dixon, one each by Phil Pressey, Kim English and Marcus Denmon — and got an electrifying slam dunk from Steve Moore.
Pressey had 19 points to lead a group of four Missouri players in double figures. Denmon scored 16 and passed former Tigers player Jon Sundvold for 10th all-time on the Missouri career scoring list.
Denmon also matched Sundvold for another milestone. Missouri won 100 games during Sundvold's four seasons as a Tiger, a record that stood as the highest until Saturday. The win against No. 6 Baylor (21-4, 8-4) was the 100th for Denmon and his fellow four-year seniors English and Moore.
Their class can set a four-year record for wins Wednesday when the Tigers host Oklahoma State (12-12, 5-6)*.
