The focus of Ridgeway Elementary's individually guided education program is to assess each student in each subject area and subsequently place him or her in appropriate instructional groups to be successful every day. This success should build a positive self-concept, and that positivity helps the student perform his or her best work.
From 1985 t0 1986, Ridgeway Elementary School was recognized for Excellence in Education by the U.S. Department of Education’s Outstanding Elementary School program. Ridgeway participates in Partner in Education with the utility service Ameren Missouri, who involve themselves with the school by having employees read to the students every two weeks, host the winter choir concert rehearsal at their facility, provides lunch for Teacher Appreciation Week and more.
The school is named after John C. Ridgeway, who was the first Boone County soldier to die in World War I. The school mascot is the Rams.
