COLUMBIA — Although Columbia Public Schools were closed because of inclement weather Monday, the Columbia School Board will proceed with its scheduled meeting at 6:30 Monday night in the Neil C. Aslin Administration Building, 1818 W. Worley St.
The board is scheduled to vote on Scenario B, a plan to redraw intermediate and high school attendance zones, as well as:
- Approval of district budget parameters for 2012-13.
- Authorization to sell about $60 million in bonds to finance major capital projects, including the continued construction of Battle High School.
- The award of bids to fund the installation of air conditioning in five schools.
Officials decided early Monday morning to cancel school for the day. Michelle Baumstark, community relations coordinator for Columbia Public Schools, has said the district considers factors such as projected snowfall, temperatures and road conditions when closing schools.
